American Diving

We are a world-renowned scuba diving center born from that high-adventure spirit which leads you from the office door to the hot sandy beaches of the Mexican border.

Texas Clipper

The Texas Clipper is a multilevel dive, meaning experienced, open-water certified divers can explore the A deck and the Promenade at 62 to 80 feet.

Training

We train divers in all levels including: SCUBA Diver, Nitrox Diver, Advanced Diver, Rescue Diver, Master Scuba Diver, Divemaster, Instructor Level Training and Technical Diver training – Intro to Tech through Closed Circuit Rebreathers including Technical Wreck Penetration.

American Diving

In 1985, American Diving moved from the commercial diving industry to the sport diving community. Since that time we have been introducing divers of all levels to the beautiful waters of the Gulf of Mexico right off the shore of South Padre Island.

The Original Dolphin Watch

One of the most unique activities on South Padre Island is the dolphin watching tour. South Texas is a year-round home to several large pods of dolphin and The Original Dolphin Watch is your ticket to viewing them in all their natural splendor.

Technical Diving is a discipline that utilizes special techniques, equipment, training and skills to improve underwater performance and safety.

Come join us for the 10th annual SPI Dive week!!! September 8th through the 17th at the Sea Ranch Marina on South Padre Island. All proceeds benefit the combat amputee's. There will be an equipment raffle, and of course lots and lots of great Diving. During Dive Week trips to the Clipper are only $165 for a two-tank trip. Each trip will be followed up with free burgers and beer at the docks.

Try Scuba/Passport Scuba Diver Program

The Try Scuba and Passport Scuba Diver program is an introductory scuba program of the National Association of Underwater Instructors. The Try Scuba portion of the program is designed to simply introduce you to scuba diving in a pool or confined water. Upon successful completion of the Passport Scuba Diver portion of this program, you may continue to enjoy scuba diving under the direct supervision of a NAUI Instructor for up to 12 months. Engaging in such activities during the initial 12-month period automatically extends your passport for an additional 12 months.

As an active Passport holder, you are encouraged to continue your diving education by attending a Scuba Diver Certification Program. The successful completion of a Scuba Diver Program bestows upon you the freedom to dive independent of direct supervision, and if you enroll within six months of your most recent Passport experience, your skills proficiency may be credited towards the requirements of the course. The award of this credit is at the sole discretion of the receiving NAUI Instructor or Facility.

The PASSPORT SCUBA DIVER Program is certified and meets ISO LEVEL 1 “SUPERVISED DIVER” Standards.
